The MEWS+ StartUpMX incubator is a collaboration between The MEWS+, The Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, CTNext, and a host of local resources and business leaders. The ten-week course assists entrepreneurs to refine their business ideas, learn fundamental business concepts, and work through the initial stages of their business.
The program includes a workshop series with topics including business strategy, finance, legal, marketing, technology and productivity, and wellness and personal development. The program also includes mentoring from The MEWS+ network for goal setting and accountability, technical assistance, and the opportunity to pitch in front of community members through a graduation pitch event.
Each of the entrepreneurs who pitched put in a tremendous amount of time and effort into their business plans and their pitch, and welcomed challenging and constructive feedback – as well as opportunities to make new connections with you – their business community here in Middlesex County, and across Connecticut.
Following the pitches, the audience voted for the pitch that presented the most original business idea, had the most long-term potential, provided a useful solution to a real problem, and made a social impact.

Adele Frost
The Paper Fascinator is a locally-owned women’s small business that provides party planning paper decorations for family and corporate events. From Save the Date to the Thank You’s, The Paper Fascinator can help you carry your theme across the event. Product themes encompass bridal, baby, birthday, and special events. Product lines include invitations, signage, place cards, favors and thank you’s.
As featured on Channel 4’s News in Los Angeles, Adele Frost, The Paper Fascinator, is well known for her Thanksgiving Turkey Party Favors as a featured takeaway at a drive-by holiday event during the COVID pandemic. Her signature products are personalized tea party favors, selling nationally across USA’s contiguous States on Etsy. She continues to work with corporate event planners from Los Angeles and is sought out locally in Connecticut for her paper flower wall art.
Adele is seeking local Wedding Planners for service and collaboration, as well as, Corporate Event Planners in need of logo tags or favors within gift boxes.
